3 Skincare basics to build a routine that works
Building a skincare routine that works can feel overwhelming, especially in a market that’s flooded with choice and information.
The goal is to find a set of products that work daily to improve skin health and deliver a naturally radiant complexion but that is often easier said than done. Cover these basics so that you have a solid start.
If your face is not properly cleansed, nothing else matters. Double cleansing is simply cleansing your skin twice and makes a huge difference to your skin. The first cleanse removes any makeup or SPF while the second cleanse will deep cleanse and treat your skin. If you are not thoroughly cleansing, pores will become clogged and active ingredients from other products won’t be able to penetrate the skin.
Incorporate an acid toner
New generation acid toners are as gentle as they are exfoliating. By including a lactic or glycolic acid toner into your routine, you will slough away dead skin cells, inject additional hydration and maintain a glowing, fresh-faced look.
Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Without adequate hydration, skin quickly becomes dull, flaky and less supple. Choose a daily moisturiser that is lightweight and absorbent and pair with a hyaluronic serum. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most powerful hydration boosters in the skincare world, capable of holding up to 1000 times its own weight in water. It’s a great idea to use a fragrance-free refreshing spritz before applying hyaluronic acid so that maximum moisture is locked-in to the skin.
